Looks like new production airframes with modern truboprop engines and cockpit design is in the works by a company that has been restoring and servicing existing PBYs.

If they are willing to put the hercules on floats because of certain demandes there might be a market for it. They tried it years ago with the Do24 but that failed in the end. Perhaps now is a better time.

Heck they used them well into the 80's. The last operator (the name slips me by) operated a few of them out of Moses Lake, Wa. He finely had a sale of everything remaining in the late 80's, early 90's?
