Japanese assault unit in Hushang, Shanghai, on November 18, 1937.
My maternal grandfather died as an IJA soldier in China on October 16, 1937.
I have his DNA but have never met him. It is a strange feeling for me that I always try to find him out in old historical pictures in China.
