The President of North American Aviation, Inc., Dutch Kindelberger, visits an empty 75-acre alfalfa
small airport and adjacent empty field beside the Missouri River, in the Fairfax industrial district of
Kansas City. He approves the site, and this plant was constructed there within 13 months. It wound up
producing 6,608 B-25 bombers.
