From a booklet entitled : America on Guard.
This is the first B-25 (call it prototype or first factory a/c), s/n 40-2165 with the slightly bigger tails. There have been trials with different sizes. Below a photo with the smaller ones:

These are Curtiss Hawk 75A-8 of the Norwegian Army Air Force flying school established in Toronto, Canada after the fall of Norway. The first A-8s were delivered in December 1940. Only 16 A-8s were used by the flying school. The rest were sold to the USAAF as P-36G and passed to Peru under Lend-Lease. The surviving Norwegian aircraft were also transferred to Peru when the Norwegians retired them in 1943.

That's Feldwebel Karl Hier 's machine(1912-1940) Originally a Luftwaffe Bf-109E-3 (Werk Nr. 1304) from I/JG 76, flown by Feldwebel Karl Hier, landed near Strasbourg Woerth, Bas-Rhin,Alsace. This was 12 miles on the French side of the border and was captured by the French on 22 Nov 1939, the aircraft was taken on charge by the French Air Force. (Some sources say he was shot down by a by a French Morane MS 406.) The pilot, Karl Hier, became a POW; he is reported to have lost his life, after being released to the Luftwaffe with the fall of France, on 15 November 1940 after disappearing into the sea off Shoeburyness in "White 11". His body was washed up on the Dutch shore 7 December 1940 and buried Bergen General Cemetery and reburied Ysselsteyn, German War Cemetery, Netherlands, 9 March 1957. His last of fifteen kills was a Hawker Hurricane on 2 November 1940 near Dungeness, when he was flying with JG 54. Thanks for posting (Note Beaufighter in the background)

A Queen Bee is a Queen Bee, not a Tiger Moth. The fuselage was made on concrete molds just like the Mosquito it was based on the DH60, the prototype went to America and there it was called a Drone. The picture was taken down at the firing range on the Solway Firth , Morris Furniture received a sub contract to build 100 for Scottish Aviation.

The picture was taken down at the firing range on the Solway Firth , Morris Furniture received a sub contract to build 100 for Scottish Aviation.
This made me curious. Nice looking plane.
 
The DH.82 Tiger Moth, like its fore-runners, was also built by de Havilland Canada although their variant featured Menasco engines, being known better as DH.82C Menasco Moths. de Havilland Canada created 1,548 aircraft, as well as an additional 200 Tiger Moths specifically for the US Air Force under a 'Lend-Lease' scheme with Canada. These were designated as PT-24 before being delivered to the Canadian Air Force. de Havilland Australia also produced an initial batch of 20 aircraft, built from UK components which eventually led to a further 1,070 being built at Mascot Aerodrome, near Sydney.

Other overseas manufacturing added to the tally with 23 aircraft being built in Sweden (as the SK.11), 91 built by OGMA in Portugal, 38 built in Norway and 133 built in New Zealand. There are also records showing that an unquantified 'large number' of kits were also assembled at various locations around the world.

A pilotless derivative, the DH.82 Queen Bee was also developed for use as a gunnery training target. Recognised as one of the earliest examples of 'drones' in military use, it is thought the term 'drone' was coined at this time as a direct reference to the DH.82 Queen Bee's name. 320 aircraft were built at Hatfield and a further 60 were produced by Scottish Aviation at Prestwick. Final DH.82 Queen Bee numbers are unknown as so many aircraft were destroyed without first receiving either registration or record.

Very interesting.

I have always thought the Queen Bee was purely a converted dH-82 so would be most interested in any further web sites/manuals/etc that cover the type.

The dH-60 was made without any molds as it is a simple wooden truss frame with ply and fabric covering so I find it interesting that the Queen Bee would need such molds.

It also has the straight constant dihedral wing which was troublesome.
The history tells us that the first 9 B-25 have been manufactured with a constant dihedral wings and during tests they had stability problems during the final bombing run, including a tendency toward "Dutch-roll". Some tests have been done (the history goes on) on a WOODEN MODEL in a wind tunnel and North American solved the problem by flattening the outer wing panels. So the famous phrase, attributed to "Dutch" Kindelberger was born: "Cut the bull and fix it!".

Here's my researches from the time I was with Morris Furniture. These are the first ones.

5027 DH.82 Queen Bee prototype (Gipsy Major #5140) K3584 ordered 8.2.33 (as "Special Moth" against AM Contract No.232902/33). Delivered to RAE 26.4.33; fitted with floats and flight tested 11.5.33. Returned to DH for mods 28.4.34. Soc 7.2.35.
5038 Queen Bee K3597 [Gipsy Major #5302] ordered 8.33 (Contract No.262684/33) and dd RAE Farnborough 17.10.33; coded "2". Damaged in trials Mountbatten, Plymouth 1.34. To DH and to spares and parts used in K4293. Soc 14.3.34.
5039 Queen Bee K3598 [Gipsy Major #5303] ordered 8.33 (Contract No.262684/33) and dd RAE Farnborough 20.10.33; coded "3". To Lee-on-Solent 12.12.33 for control and catapult trials. They were not built at the Morris Factory but at West Campbell Street Glasgow on another sub contract to the West of Scotland Furniture Company. Morris were involved with the Mosquito and assured me the Queen Bees were built around concrete molds.

Fahrney was ordered as officer in charge of the Radio-
Controlled Aircraft Project.4, 6, 14 Work commenced on
the airframe at the Naval Aircraft Factory in Philadelphia,
while the radio equipment was developed by the
Radio Division at the Naval Research Laboratory. In
his semiannual report for the last half of 1936, Fahrney
introduced the term drone for aerial targets, a designation
that endures to this day
