Australian Squadron Leader Peter Turnbull atop the French (American-built) Martin Maryland 167
he shot down on 15 June 1941 over Sheik Meskine (in Syria). The victory, in a Curtiss P-40 Tomahawks,
was Turnbull's fifth, making him an ace and thus meriting a celebration. Turnbull later earns the DFC
for his service
