A friend of mine found a couple of boxes of 35MM slides in the trashcan at the local airport. He gave them to another friend who had been over there in the same time frame and he had Walgreens convert them to a CD. here are a few.

Wow! Those are beautiful! I'd love to see the whole collection. How much history has been lost due to incidents like this. And being it was a local airport, I wonder if they'd been donated for a museum or for display and someone going through some files just decided to trash them. Inexcusable to me.
 
The unfortunate thing is that even for those slides saved we do not have a caption to explain who is there and what is going on. We know in general because my friend was there in that time frame. Looks like that some of them record a ceremony where some aircrew had just completed their tour of duty or perhaps a certain number of missions. My friend Dave explained that pictures from that installation are rare because officially, they were not there, and no unauthorized pictures of the activity were supposed to exist.

And note the tail number of that A-1E!
