They said that an old friend picked up Jack Northrup at his home in Santa Barbara and drove him down to the Northrop Advanced Projects Division, located at the top of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. They sat him down and told him they had been authorized to show him Northrup's newest bomber design. They handed him a box and he opened it and took out a model of the B-2. He had suffered a stroke and could not speak, but he wrote down, "Now I know why I have not died yet."
