The Squadron nickname is apt VF-132 "Peg Leg Pete's" They only flew F8's for 13 months in 1961-62. The coast does not look like Florida, so I wonder where this event occurred? They were based at NAS Cecil Field in Florida for most of that time.
Arriving at Łask Air Base for a respray?
C-5 lands at Charleston AFB SC and is parked of to one side used by F-4's. An F-4 lands and as it taxis to its spot noticed the big bird and ask the tower what that monster is doing. Just than the visor (nose) on the C-5 starts to open and the reply comes over the radio "I'm going to eat you all up)!
Don't know which is more scary, the open jaws of the Globemaster (C-17) or the A-10.
C-5, C-17 doesn't open the visor only the rear cargo hatch.Don't know which is more scary, the open jaws of the Globemaster (C-17) or the A-10.
P.S. Could also be a Galaxy (C-5) not sure.
