XB-47D modified from B-47B , replacing each inboard two-jet pod with a Wright YT49-W-1 turboprop engine spinning a huge four-bladed props. Performance was comparable to a conventional B-47, and its reversible propellers shortened the landing roll, but the idea was not pursued.

I know it's a gal-danged B-47! I thought it was a project to produce increased hearing loss efficiency.
