A-7D aircraft from Myrtle Beach AFB, SC. I went there in Oct 1975 and put them back in the air. The TF-41 engine was having some major problems and the USAF maintenance guys had devised a labor saving way of yanking the engines for the frequent inspections, an approach that warped the bleed air ducts.

The modifications to the vertical fin and flaps for the A-7F probably included the addition of an automatic system that prevented the aircraft from entering a "Post-Stall Gyration" that was NOT a spin and for which normal spin recovery techniques would not work.
