Starting nearest to the camera are a Gloster Meteor F.8, Hawker Hunter F.6, Lockheed F-104G Starfighter and General Dynamics F-16A Fighting Falcon

Meteor nearest was, IIRC in service with the RAF Tactical Weapons Unit at Brawdy at the time and was 'borrowed' for the shoot.

The USN Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was capable of carrying nuclear weapons and many received a retractable inner flash screen to protect the pilot from the nuclear blast intense light upon detonation.

My father told me about those pull down light screens, but I don't remember seeing a picture of an A-4 equipped with them before.

20 years of British aircraft development on display at RAF Coltishall's "At Home" day in September 1960 as aircrews of five aircraft assemble prior to a flight to mark the 20th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
