If I recall correctly (and who knows about that) this is the squadron we flew against in Pitch Black 83 (I think, maybe 82). Andersen AFB down to Darwin two B-52D two KC-135A and the Aussies brought in the Mirage squadron and some F-111C's the Taxiways and runways were a WEE bit small for the Buffs so we couldn't put a full load on them. they would taxi out really slow as the tip gear hung up in the air with no fuel in the tip tanks. Only on center bicycles and she would wabble as she taxied out. Take off and then a tanker would launch and fill her up. We played the aggerser and the Mirages were the defense. Too much fun in the sun for a week. About half way through the excessive a Assie 11C came SCREAMING overhead not 250 feet and right at MACH. couldn't have been less then .98. All the freaking windows shook valiantly and I need to change my underwear. Looked up and had to track where he was because he was GONE, I mean FULL BURNERS and a screaming. Way to cool. call came over the radio tha tthe BRA (Bomber Recovery Area) was out of action had we had been bombed.... Good lord abouve it was way to much fun to play was Aussie style.../
