The Tu-95D (commonly referring to the Tu-95RT, NATO reporting name Bear-D) is a Cold War-era Soviet maritime reconnaissance and electronic intelligence aircraft. Converted from the original Tu-95 strategic bomber frame, its primary role was long-range ocean surveillance and target designation for Soviet naval missile

Once again: the designation "Tu-95D" is a product of the imagination - a mistaken combination of "Tu-95" and "Bear-D." It is not mentioned in Soviet documents (although a transport variant, the Tu-95DT, was planned; however, the Tu-114 was designed instead).
