The only British invention adopted by the Americans, not mentioned by the narrator was the aircraft carrier itself. Reminds me of the news announcer in the movie "The Mouse on the Moon".

The first aircraft carrier was American. It was a barge of sorts carrying an observation ballon during the American Civil War.
As I found an answer that made me happy, no further research deemed necessary.
