SMS makes a water based flat clear im gonna try. 99% of my P-40B is SMS acrylic lacquer.I went from 3 brands of flat finishes that I was disappointed with to 3 that I'm very happy with. This came while I was in camp. Laid down some gloss black and then, when dry, I over coated half with the Army and half with this. Photo later. Brett Green swears by this. It can be thinned and cleaned up with water
