Thanks Evan.
The Sten Mk.II is made by Denix ( and the HP35 too).
I really wanted a Sten Mk.V, and there is a superb metal and wood one available, as a CO2 powered, blow-back 6mm airsoft gun, which fires full auto very realistically. But it costs more than twice the price of the replica Mk.II, and it wouldn't be used for firing, so a bit of a waste.
There's a firing, metal, airsoft Sten Mk.II available too, a bit cheaper than my replica, although the bolt/spring don't look 100% accurate due to the need for the electric gubbins inside.

Beauty, cheers Terry. I did see an air-soft Mk.V in a shop in Dublin years ago, but it looked 'plasticky'. I think it was about 5 or 600 Euro too, so just a tad overpriced for me!

Cheers for that Terry. Always wanted a Sten Mk.I/II, so this is probably as close as it's going to get to having one. Worth saving up for :)

Don't know of any Mk.1 Stens around - that was the one with the weird flash suppressor.
The Mk.II is the more common type, and is available in real, de-activated form (expensive !), replica, like mine, around £195 to £250, or at least two airsoft makes, around £150 ish.

I'm sure nothing would surprise your neighbours at this stage Jan! :)

Nice one Geo. If that's the relatively recent kit (within the last 4 or 5 years or so), then it's very nice kit. I've got it in the "Ready for Battle" set.
