Thanks for the info Geo. I'll have a look in my LHS first, then elsewhere. I could use a set of small snips for some jobs, and a spare set of files and twist drill will always come in handy.
Unfortunately for me, the nearest hobby shops are 2hrs away and they are both in the process of deleting all their plastic model stock so I'm forced to go online. Having said that, this arrived today. My last purchases have been Japanese which will wear allied livery. Looking for ATAIUºSEA decals as we speak.
Good stuff Geo. I saw a set of ATAIU SEA decals, covering a number of aircraft, very recently - maybe a week or so ago. They were either at Hannant's or Model Hobbies.
Many thanks for the heads-up Terry. Just did a quick shufti around Hannants and there it was, however, it is no longer by Rising decals but is now Max Models. Gotta reload PayPal now. There are 20+ sheets,so no rush.

EDIT Damn you Cory, now I gotta buy an A6M2. I've already got Pt.III EDIT,EDIT Oh Yeah, the wife wants to know where you live
Wojtek, congratulations on easing into retirement. Trying to do the same myself but have yet to get to the targeted 3 work days/week. I'm very much looking forward to seeing your work grace these pages again.
For the past few months I've been looking at the new Eduard Spitfire IX kit. While the thing looks nothing short of stunning I feel Eduard is pushing it in terms of price and what you get (Profi-Pack comes with a limited PE set, no resin etc.) Not to mention all the other gimmicky stuff that goes with it (bags, t-shirts, beer and what have you) Can't say I'm interested in that, much less want to pay for it. I was hoping for a quick release of the Weekend Edition, but sofar Eduard seems to release expensive Brassin and PE stuff to go with the kit. Until I noticed the overtrees in the Eduard shop. So for the price of one IXc Profi-Pack (including shipping) I ordered plastic parts for a IXc (late) and IXe kit. With plenty of Spitfire parts in the spares box and other kits that have been relegated to the second line with the release of this one, piecing together a set of markings will be easy. Happy I got these
Good stuff. I agree about Eduard's policy of 'gimmicks' and add-ons. I'd much rather have the basic plastic. If I wanted a T shirt, beer mug, replica medal or 5 gramms of over-priced brass, I'd go out and buy them - I don't want them adding to the cost of a kit and shipping!
