These arrived today, another FW 190a-5 to be built as a captured bird...
...A-7a Corsair II, hopefully I can find some decals for when the aircraft served on the U.S.S. Constellation. There are some issues with the kit, around the intake if I recall but, don't care...have an A-7.
Last Saturday, the Bomber Command Museum in Nanton put on a fund-raising gala for a planned expansion and auctioned off a number of goodies. There were some pretty cool items that, fortunately for the museum, went for several thousand dollars, way outside of my league. However, I did manage to win the below silent auction item: a framed Robert Taylor print "The Lancaster V.C's" signed by Victoria Cross holders Norman Jackson and Bill Reid.
Well, even though I really shouldn't have, I picked this up today while getting some paints. It'll be done up in RCAF 418 Squadron (Edmonton) markings. The decals were given out at a model show last year.
It's the Accurate Miniatures kit and comes with multiple noses.
I just used thin plastic strips inside the fuselage, added some plastic card on top of these, joined the fuselage and then layered on the mud on my GB26 build. Probably other easier ways if you look around.
