Lanc is a good kit....

and Jan, have scored one! :D

Wayne, the airbrush is also the same as those I've been using, under a different brand name. They work fine, although with enamels, the seals start to leak after about a year. But for that price, who cares ?!!

The Lancaster is a good kit overall, but suffers from a couple of small inaccuracies, the main one being the radio operator's window is in the wrong place, too far forward by just over the width of the window. The electrical distribution panel, opposite the radio and nav stations, is also in the wrong place, but can't really be seen once the fuselage is joined.
The original, 1970s issue kit, had block tread tyres on the main wheels, which are wrong for a WW2 Lanc, which should have smooth-tread tyres. I think the new kit has them, but if not, then resin wheels can be had from Belcher Bits.

What brand airbrush is that anyway, I am needing a new one. My Paasche is slightly warped in the body, and detail work is next to impossible anymore.

This particular 'brush has the name 'Spirit Air' engraved on the side of the barrel, but is identical to those I've bought from a British company, under the 'AB airbrush' brand name. This one came from e-bay.
They're a copy of a number of other types, probably not as good quality materials, but they work fine, and all of mine have lasted at least 2 years before needing any servicing, and then just the seals needed replacing, due to use with enamel paints and thinners, which tend to be more 'aggressive' than acrylics.
Spares are available, but it's often been easier to buy a complete new 'brush, as the cost has only been slightly more than the cost of spare parts. But even with worn or degraded seals, given that the 'brush is thoroughly cleaned after each use, it will still work.
Economy-wise, I could buy a brush costing in excess of £100, which may last three or four years before major servicing was required, or replacement, or I could but a new 'brush every 2 to 3 years, which costs a total of around £12 to £18 - doesn't take much to see the logic in buying a cheaper 'brush, which works just as well as the (often over-priced) more expensive items.

Some good stuff here - except for Jan, who still hasn't bought anything!
I think he must have a high-class Judy stashed away somewhere, one with expensive taste, so he can't afford anything else !

Looks like I'll be doing another RAF Mitchell II at some stage (but an OOB example this time!), as Wojtek very kindly sent me these decals, along with a book shown in the 'New Book in my Library' threads.
Thanks again my friend !
