Actually got to make some kit purchases the other day - had to wait an absolute age to get them from Hannants in the UK.

The Zero looks fun and have absolutely no idea how I will go with the Sally vacform kit. Reviews are not inspiring but given my late father has a historical link to a captured Sally I really wanted to build one. Seems vacform is the only way to go in 1/48 (and maybe even 1/72). Wish me luck!!!

Actually in 1/72 scale there are two non-vac options at least. Revell and MPM, neither, I read, have gotten it quite right. Shame.

Interesting! Might have to take a look at either one of these as well. The 1/48 vac version is going to be a huge challenge - not to mention too big for me to store on show anywhere. If I think I can get at least a decent representation of the real thing with either I may go down that path as well. Many thanks!

Thanks Wayne. Been wanting to get an early-ish Zero for quite a while but they seem to sell out here in Oz so very quickly. Might be asking you for advice on colours and markings at some point if that's ok. I know pretty much nothing about Japanese aircraft so both builds will be a learning experience.
