Guys, I have a ban on buying new models. The ban will be lifted only if I finish AT LEAST ONE of the models I started in the last xx years. I tried but couldn't make it so far. But I succeeded in secretly buying 3 new models (don't tell anybody, please[-X[-X[-X).
2 of them are brand new ones from the local hobby store, one is (surprisingly for me) from the Salvation Army thrift store.
The new models are 20CAD each + 13% tax, the used one was for 5CAD donation, no tax. The latter is missing 3 parts. I could see this in the store and started a detailed search under the shelves, in the garbage bins etc. (just imagine that!) but to no avail. 2 of the missing parts are struts so not too hard to replicate but the 3rd part is a moving piece from the tailplane. I have the identical part for the other side so maybe 3D printing will come handy. That's the story! Below are the models.
The 2 new ones:

BTW all 3 models come with trailers/carts! Great additions for free.
Cheers!

Way too cool Yves. Well worth bending the no buying ban. I myself just did the same thing, purchaced an Accurate Miniatures Mustang Mk.l with a Canadian connection, 63⦾X s/n AG367
Good for you, Geo! I always try to explain that I DO NOT BUY models, I'm saving them from the hands of bad modelers that will ruin them or kids that will spill the parts around.
Honestly, I was looking for the Seiran since years and the prices are in the best case around 50CAD + shipping. I was ready to pay around 40 CAD + tax. Never could imagine I'll get it for 20! The Rufe was like a free addition: Seiran for 40.00, Rufe for 0.00 - great deal! The thrift store Jake was not something I was looking for, the model is a bit crappy with some electrical parts (rotating propeller) instead of a real cockpit but it could become a great model as well. Not sure when shall I start it though...maybe in my next life...noooo...no time to wait for it!

You could make the Jake a ceiling/ higher shelf queen with the running prop...Just stick top halves of figures above the motor parts so it looks like it's manned from lower eye level.

Small purchase, but my latest. Handy little buggers for sanding, even for small gaps and curved surfaces.

Another early IJN bomber. Saw it a few minutes after he posted it and bam. Have wanted one for awhile, but didn't want to pay over $50 for it.

I bought the AK Real Markers because one the gentlemen on here posted on how well they work.

While not a recent purchase, I was amused to see that a chap in the UK has posted on Youtube a list of his most wanted kits, all of them very rare kits of unusual subjects.

And I have in my collection TWO of them, being:

Revell 1/144 Super Guppy modified C-97

Revell reissue of Renwall 1/35 Atomic Cannon.

The slightly embarrassing aspect of this coincidence being that neither is a subject I had earnestly sought to acquire or had a special interest in. They just sort of happened.

I have reluctantly concluded that I must be something of a Big Deal in model kit collecting.

And if I had to produce a list of my most-wanted-to-acquire kits, I have no idea what would be on it. How about y'all?
