I only recently found out about The Rainbow. I realize that jets were the future and prop jobs were passe". However a Recon bird that has a service ceiling with a 480 mph top speed at 40,000 feet is exactly what we needed at that time. Remember in Korea we were using recycled assets from WW Ii for photo recon. Did they ever power one of these with Jets?

I only recently found out about The Rainbow.

I've known about it for some time now, but in 1992 in a Flight International Christmas spotter's quiz - I thought I saw its Doppelganger.
See below, second from the left...

No net back then. Took me years to find out.
I'm a slow spotter.

Looks a little Rainbow-ish and quite fast...
