my last post for today.. this is the actuall Ju 88 A1 werknumber 0880119 when it was sinking in 1940 and are now under restoration at our hangar at gardermoen..and THIS will be my first diorama when i get the kit from Revell

this is also the Ju 88 revell has used as pattern ( there will be a upgradekit with the 88 to make it into a A5 also and that opens up for a whole range of different markings and theathres..as those were used thru the war )

I've....we've....that's sooo wrong! We never blame you for anything! well, the breakup of the union was all your fault! What would life be without our Swedish and Norwegian jokes, eh? Brotherly love as they say.... Always love to return to Tronheim, Narvik and so on....Trollstigen....memories!

GF this is turning into a very interesting thread indeed, am finding quite a bit of new factual info that ks to what has been presented within the posts. news to me about the colored masts of KG 100, have a few pics you probably have seen of bombers of the unit with the Wappenshield and did wonder too if the sky had been a much lighter color than blue, so now we have the evidence, thank you for sharing and a good memory for and about the previous Kommodore

keep this thread going please you guys .......

excellent ! E ~

E !!
thank you so much for the kind words. i had never thought this thread would turn out this way but its really a pleasure and i am a bit overwelmed by the response consider i am only two days old member !!

i would love to see the pictures of the KG 100 bombers..maybe i have seen them..maybe not..
but its not the mast that had different colours ( its the little flag in top of the mast..) and glad i could help with some new information regarding the KG 100 emblem !! Arthur VonCassimir ( god bless his sould ) was treated as a hero in Norway when he returned for the salvage of his He 111 and we arranged metings with fighterpilots he had fought agains..and it was really something..lots of tears and memories !! and no hard feelings !!

i will do my best to keep this thread going !! hope the others in here will as well..and keep updating with details from the Ju 88 and other little known facts !! as Lucky 13 said.. " who said modellbuilding was not educational "

good night whishes from Norway

Great Scott, chaps! I only went away for a few hours to do some modelling, and when I came back, this thread had grown by four pages!!
Jolly good show, what?!
Mr.G., I'll try and send you e-mail copies of the JU88 plans, but if they don't show up very well, e-mail a postal address and I'll send photocopies of the whole article, plus some copies of the Bundes Archiv photos in the book.
It strikes me that, with your accumulated knowledge of the JU88, and the KG100 Heinkel, with the little details like the colour of the badge, that you couls produce a book for modellers on the subject. Why not contact Osprey Publishing, and see what they say?
As for the price of the Revell kit, I think that is fantastic value! Knowing that they keep their prices realistic, I had guessed at maybe £30 to £35. As Lucky said, had it been one of the 'other' companies, it would have been a lot more! I would guess in the region of £50 to £80 at least!
Having seen the pics of the test shots, the detail is just fantastic, and I hope it arrives in time for me to buy my own Christmas present!! Glad I pre-ordered through my model shop.
Looking forward to the next installment, Mr.G!
Terry.

i will..just need to work in between also..hehe
now its of to a 10hrs shif at work so more will come

and thanks for the kind words and inspiration.. i have long been playing with the idea of making a Ju 88 " bible" regarding the A1,A5 and A4 but i want to come a bit further in the cockpitrestoration so i have some more details and photos to use in the book ))

glad i can help with some info guys

and lucky 13..we want jemtland and herjedalen back..its norvegian property..

Want Jemtland and Herjedalen back...!? Dream on lad, we won it fair and square....besides, we don't belong to nobody, we're a republic! 8)

Btw, which would be the best base to start from, if you want to do a 1/48 A-1, A-5 etc? Am I wrong in thinking that the Revell and Monograms '88's are reboxed DML/Dragon?

Also found these, which seems to be decent in quality....8)

i agree. what i like with the new 88 model is that it opens up for huge range of possibilities for the future regarding A1/A5..and all that can be made of different decals.. and also add ons and equipment

GF

i really hope that revell will make some more groundequipment and things for this Ju 88..here is a picture from a A1 in Norway 1940..also a cool dioramapossibility..also a nice detailpicture for weathering on the wheelbaydoors and other small details
