MIflyer
Captain
A while back I mentioned bazookas being fitted to B-24's.
Attached is a picture of the L-4 named Rosie the Rocketeer, an L-4 in the ETO that was armed with 6 bazookas. The pilot was Maj "Bazooka Charlie" Carpenter, who supported Gen Patton's 3rd Army during its advance into Europe.
He started out by attaching two bazookas to his L-4 and when that worked out well, he added four more. Reportedly he killed at least six German tanks with that unlikely setup.
The Historic Aircraft Preservation Society has a WWII vintage L-4 that they plan to restore to flying condition in the markings of Rosie the Rocketeer. They are soliciting donations to support the effort.
