    Being an old git I thought it was simple
    1/144 is 1 in to 12 ft
    1/72 is 1 in to 6 ft
    1/48 is 1 in to 4 ft
    1/24 is 1 in to 2 ft

    1/32 is some sort of metricated fascist conspiracy of a scale that purely by accident makes a good scale for modelling.
