100 Octane fuel for aircraft in Britain for most of the war came mainly from North American and the Caribbean refineries, fuel for the Middle East, India etc. came mainly from Middle East refineries. With Lend-Lease the fuel arriving in Britain was put into a common pool and allocated as required.
