Aug 10, 2005 #1 Nonskimmer Captain 8,620 9 Nov 11, 2004 Halifax, Nova Scotia Ernest "Smokey" Smith, Canada's last surviving Victoria Cross winner, passed away a week ago at his home in Vancouver at the age of 91. He was given the full send-off by his old regiment, the Seaforth Highlanders.
