The Seafire (above) does the width right, but a backward Fulmar-like fold would both eliminate the wingtip fold and help clear the low hangar ceilings whilst providing for three abreast storage as shown below.

HiEither that, or license from Grumman its "Sto-Wing" swing-fold to the side that the Hellcat and Avenger used.
I wonder how the two systems compare. On the Blackburn fold the leading edge faces upwards, but downward on the Grumman system, like on the Stuka.Or the Blackburn Skua wing fold system that pre-dates the Grumman.
Do you actually know anythung about the subject ?Spitfire - one off one trick pony. They had no track record of designing fighters.
