Hi All,

First post, looks like I found the right place 8)

This plank of wood was used as flooring in my garage attic. My garage was built in 1947 and located on Long Island. It looks like it was part of a shipping create at one time. My questions about this are, what year plane is this from? what part of the plane? Is there any information that can be obtained from this plank? Any help is appreciated. I plan on displaying this in my man cave :p

With Andy, Grumman TBF-1 Avenger. They were designed as torpedo bombers, but often carried standard bombs instead.

Judging by the details of your container planking, it may have been a complete propeller assembly in disassembled state (note ref. to hub drawing no, and blade drawing no, also the comment that tools are enclosed)

Yep, with A4K and Andy. This is a Grumman TBF-1C Avenger and fitted to it is a Hamilton Standard 23E50 'Hydromatic' propeller.

So at one time it was part of the create for the propeller. Very nice. Thanks for the help!
