This pilot error occurred at the Lonestar Flight Museum fly in when they were still located in Galveston, Texas. I don't remember the date off the top of my head. This was the first public event with their newly restored Hurricane. This was the first Hurricane I saw in the air. The museum now had both a Hurricane and a Spitfire now. I was facing the opposite direction when We heard the crash truck leaving the station. I did not think about it at first because there is usually a restored doge firetruck at the fly ins. Then I heard a modern siren. I turned around and could make out the planes on the far end of the field. I swapped my lens to the 120 mm a took a couple of photos.i have enlarge this about as large as possible. The Spitfire pilot was not paying attention and ran into the back of the Hurricane. This is the only accident I witness in 40+ years of airshows. The only other event I remember is a cross wind flipping over a taxiing L-9 the day before I went.
