-8°C and snowing; the tail end of the warning ends this afternoon. Last weeks snowfall warning created two accidents with fatalities that involved a logging truck, a semi and two pick-ups. I drove past the scene of the one closer to home the next day, it was an empty logging truck and pick-up. To me, it looked like the logging truck came around a corner, too fast for conditions, broke out, crossed the line and took out the pick-up. I worked with the guy in the pick-up and his daughter was my daughter's friend.

That's horrible news ..... I give logging trucks as much clearance as I possibly can: they're ALWAYS in a hurry and tend to be extremely heavily loaded. And they kick up huge clouds of dust when it's dry out

Man it's down to 59° supposed to be a low of 54° tonight/morning. 75 for tomorrow's high. Feels like an ice age is coming on!!!!!

94 degrees Fahrenheit/ 34 degrees not Fahrenheit here in Rayong. It's cooler than Amnat Charoen, where the house is. This is a multi step journey.

34°F/1°C at the moment (0400) with a wind chill good for 19°F/-7°C. Headed toward 24°F/-4°C around 0800 with a wind chill good for 12°F/-11°C.

We are basically having a slow motion low grade hurricane here, with temps 10-15F lower than a real tropical storm, winds continuous in the plus 25 kts range and gusting to 32 plus kts, periodic blasts of rain ranging from misting to heavy, overcast skies. 3.8 inches of rain since Monday. We don't need either heat nor air cond but long pants feel nice.
Has been going on now for over two days and it is getting awful damn old; going shopping is a pain and outside activities are more or less impossible.
Need to work on the car but that requires I run the engine and I am given to understand that doing so in a closed garage is somewhat unwise.
Looks like it will still be under way tomorrow. Maybe things will calm down by Friday.

In August we would be delighted with this weather but not in April.

Rollercoaster weather here:
Partially sunny with thunderstorms, cooler temps with possible snow in the surrounding mountains.

Since we have a major, weeklong car show next week (Kool April Nights), you can be sure we'll have rain.

Saw that we may have a Super El Nino this year, which means the West Coast gets blasted with heavier winter storms and the East Coast has a milder hurricane season due to the more energetic upper winds knocking the tops off the storms in the Atlantic. We had a much milder hurricane season last year than in 2024 but a big rain storm in October produced flooding that was nearly as bad

We ended up with 5.8 inches of rain from this week's events. We were a couple of inches behind in rainfall compared to what is normal for the year but I guess we got caught up and then some. In any case we did get about 15 min of genuine sunshine today and tomorrow looks to be mostly sunny.

Shite weather in Carrick-On-Shannon, as usual. Especially hurts after spending 10 days in Pécs and Budapest (Hungary), where they have SUN. Horrible to be back.

Wifey and I were watching a Nat Geo episode on Big Bend National Park. Just as the Mountain Bighorn sheep were demonstrating their head butting contests the whole house shook: a perfectly timed series of earthquakes. So far the max was a 5.5; we've had about 20 aftershocks. Haven't heard about any significant damage. If there isn't another 5+ that we feel I'll have to check the map at https://earthquake.usgs.gov › earthquakes › map tomorrow.
