Well, seismology is interesting. As a student at UNR (U of Nevada, Reno) the basic geology courses included more on seismology and vulcanism than courses in less geologically challenged states might. The San Andreas chain (more than a fault line) is important but, as I understood (or THINK I understood it) the mass of the Sierras kind of insulates what is east of them from such west coast problems.
Not to say that an 8.0 or suchlike quake along the San Andreas wouldn't have any effect on us but I think our issues are separate.
Earthquakes seem to be one thing Nevada can't blame on California.

Did you study the tsunami that damaged Carson City about 100 years back? I cant remember which lake it started on but it is one of the "top ten" from memory.
Was there a tsunami in Carson City? In lake Tahoe?

I cannot remember the location but the Tsunami Museum at Hilo Hawaii has a fairly large display on it. Like the Tsunami in Switzerland in Roman times it started with an earthquake that caused a landslide into the lake which caused the tsunami which caused the lake to overflow dramatically.
I will try and find more detail on it. I could find nothing on line. It will mean going through the photos I took in the museum.

I did not take a usable photo of that whole poster but I did take one of the section covering the tsunami on Lake Geneva which was below it. THat shows a part of the text regarding the Lake Tahoe tsunami.

Snowing. Yes, seriously. It's snowing. In mid-May. Actually, snow on the May long weekend is pretty much a tradition here. In theory, it's winter's last gasp. In theory. We'll see.......
