A similar story involved a BN Islander, at Cark, in Cumbria, back in the summer of 1985.
The aircraft had just dropped some skydivers, and was landing to collect the next lift, including yours truly.
Just as it touched down, a large sheep ran across the runway, and got hit by the port undercarriage wheel bogie.
The wheels were knocked out of line, but soon repaired, using brute force, basic tools and a few prayers, and parachuting continued. (the Islander was properly inspected later, and passed as fit to fly).
Needless to say, the sheep was not easily repaired, and ended up on the barby. that evening !!
