What's a Prom?

A promenade dance or promenade, commonly called a prom, is a dance party for high school students. It is generally attended in semi-formal black tie or, at minimum, suit by boys and evening gowns by girls.
It's a significant event for many, and typically includes dancing, photo opportunities, and celebrating the end of the school year or a specific grade level.
Some schools may have separate prom events for junior and senior classes, or they may be combined.
