Great story, good thing he wasn't flying a P-39. And now I mention this ".....de Wilde ammunition was a type that flashed on impact assisting the pilot's aim...." first I've heard of it. Off to the Googler.......................

I have read similar, but different wording.

Well, we were warned about what would happen if you moved the armored plate and changed the CG.

I wonder if the groundhog was piloting it............
