I found these preliminary damage reports for the USS Saratoga. Dated Jan 11 1942.

I will post the UNS final reports later this week.

Note - dont forget to look at the PDF file thats attached.

She did well, I would have expected more damage from a submarine torpedo.


It looks like the main damage is caused by the shock effects and buckling bulkheads and decks (as opposed to direct blast, fragments and thermal efefcts)
