My wife works at a funeral home.
Today there is a funeral for a prominent local politician.
Apparently, the political class believe the term "We the People" applies exclusively to them.

You have obviously never had to deal with any of the %$^&* or you would have already known that.

Just like you should know the answer to the question How do you know when a politician is lying. Any time their lips or fingers are moving.

I've had my share of pollsters canvassing. The few I've actually talked to don't give a damn about my opinion.
I often get a follow up letter or email which says "Thank you for sharing your thoughts on 'issue'. Please be confident that >politician< is committed to doing all he can to >effect an outcome completely opposite of what you want<.
I'm glad we can count on your vote."
