I told the wife I was going to buy the boys an old Mack B series with split trannys... 5 on the main and a Quadraplex on the aux... 20 speeds with no synchros... Thought she was going to kill me that night..

Hey I'll have you know despite not having a license, I can sorta kinda drive a manual.

I am getting fed up with the "autostall" feature on my car. Some yayhoo who apparently has never driven a car in rush hour traffic thought "Ya know? Wouldn't it be cool if every time a car stopped the engine would just automatically shut off? Think of the energy we could save!" Except there is no set time for the autostall feature to kick in. You could stop at a light and the engine keeps running, or you could tap your brakes lightly and ... nothing.

Can you not deactivate it? I can on my car. I don't mind it though. The restart is super fast and does not slow me down. In fact all I have to do is slightly twitch the stearing wheel and it restarts.

Over in Germany just about everyone learns on a manual regardless of generation. We jokingly called it the American Anti-theft Device.
