What Annoyed You Today? (9 Viewers)

I don't think that damnable option is available on manual transmission equipped cars.
Ahhh. The manual transmission. Or as we like to call it - the Gen-Z antitheft device.

I told the wife I was going to buy the boys an old Mack B series with split trannys... 5 on the main and a Quadraplex on the aux... 20 speeds with no synchros... Thought she was going to kill me that night.. :woot:

Hey I'll have you know despite not having a license, I can sorta kinda drive a manual.

I am getting fed up with the "autostall" feature on my car. Some yayhoo who apparently has never driven a car in rush hour traffic thought "Ya know? Wouldn't it be cool if every time a car stopped the engine would just automatically shut off? Think of the energy we could save!" Except there is no set time for the autostall feature to kick in. You could stop at a light and the engine keeps running, or you could tap your brakes lightly and ... nothing. :banghead:

Can you not deactivate it? I can on my car. I don't mind it though. The restart is super fast and does not slow me down. In fact all I have to do is slightly twitch the stearing wheel and it restarts.

Here in the UK if you pass your driving test in an automatic you can't legally drive a manual car.
How does that work?

Same in Germany. If you learn on a manual you can legally drive both. If you learn on an automatic your license is annotated as such until you go and test on a manual.

Driving schools are long and legit compared to the drivers ed, or relying on parents passing on their bad habits to their teens like here in the US.

It's expensive too. I think I paid 1,500 Deutsch Marks to get my license. It's even more expensive now.
