It is a real thing that comes up from time to time. I have been at trade shows where Australian stands/companies are grouped in with Austrian ones.

my hand got tired holding the quart of wood finish and I dropped it, and had to salvage what I could with the dustpan and clean up the mess. That was the end of production for me today.

Ours went out for about five min during a T-storm last week and it was unbearable. Admittedly, one of the lightning strikes was so close that you heard the sound before you saw the flash. We are indeed fortunate that Florida has a thunderstorm season that only lasts 12 months.

The outage actually lasted 14 hours, came back on at 2100hrs. Lost two tubs of ice cream but everything else was okay

We used to loose power for days at a time about 3-4 times a year, and that is why I bought an automatic back up gererator 12 years ago. The problem was a neighbor 3 houses down had a bunch of garbage trees growing into the power lines, and it would only effect the next 3 houses, not his. And he refused to cut them or even let me pay for cutting them down. I think he thought I was tring to scam him in someway? He passed a few years ago and the new owners cut the trees down and there have been few problems sense.
The trouble was that it was only 3 houses effected, so we were usually the last ones to be restored. I was traveling frequently for work so I did not wasnt to have the Mrs burn the house down, or axficiate herself and the dogs while I was away using the gas powered generator.

So an update here. The helmet was shipped from the west side of Missouri. I live on the east side near STL. The package made it to STL on the east side, then was sent to Kansas City back on the west side, and next to Arlington, Texas where it sits.

The ineptitude of the postal service is mind boggling.

And latest update…

It's in Kentucky. Yeap, serious. The level of incompetence is completely amazing.

These ungrateful children I have over the littlest things. Quite irritating when it's all four at the same time.

Achilles tendinitis.
Ouch! Here is what you should do. Sounds absurd but it WORKS!

Take off your shoes, socks, and gunbelt and lie down on a bed. Then sit up, grab your big toe, and pull it back toward your chest. You will feel the tendon working. Pull on it a few times. Do this for each afflicted foot.

I have trouble doing this and not laughing. I think of the old "pull my finger" joke and ponder that if you get fart from pulling a finger you probably should expect to get a pants load for pulling a big toe. But it works! Do this 3 or 4 times a day and your problem should be gone in less than a week.

I had Achilles Tendinitis in BOTH feet, the result of wearing some new Nike shoes my Mom bought me without me trying them on. Could barely walk but this little procedure fixed me right up.

Thanks for the advice. I think my problem is my work boots cut into the Achilles tendon when I'm climbing up and down. Now the one is seriously inflamed and it's affecting how I walk and screwing up my knees. Boss was none too pleased when he saw me in sneakers this morning.
If he gives me any guff I will file a workplace injury and find some quack to sign off on 12 weeks paid medical leave.

We used to lose power about 3 to 4 times A MONTH although it usually was only off a short time. After a hurricane it might be off for over a week, and usually was off for around 12 hours or so at the least. Oddly enough, they seemed very good at fixing it quickly, even while there was wind and rain but late became less rapid. In the late 90's and early 2000's we had a daily power drop out around 1900 that only lasted a second or so but that was after I had turned my air cond on during the summer and that little drop out was sufficient to cause the air cond not to run for an hour or more. Reliability has improved enormously and the last hurricane where we lost it was due to an awning blowing off a business into the power lines 1.5 miles up the road, knocking it our for about eight hours; I have a 4KW generator I picked up at a good price and used it at that time.
