I have been trying all day to access my credit card statement on-line, without success. Firefox has made a number of "updates" of the browser in recent weeks and has thus rendered me unable to access the statements I used to find with relative ease. Finally I called up the credit card company and told them I was going to have to discontinue the "paperless" approach until I could get a decent Internet computer working; they will start mailing me paper copies again. I purchased a used Apple laptop and I am going to try that as soon as I can figure it out; it seems it is time to abandon Microsoft products, at least for e-mail.
I really do not understand why computer people simply have to screw around with an application that is working until they totally 'eff it up, but it seems to be inevitable.

Unfortunatly you needed the money, so it was cut, now if your average income was 5X the GNP of the EU, it would have been trippled by the bill I am sure.

I recently encountered something that should serve as a warning. A couple of weeks back I went to Home Depot and bought some lumber, about $42 worth. When I (Finally) got my credit card statement I noted the $42 charge on 14 Aug but also a $100 charge for that same day. I did not also buy $100 from HD that day. I reported the incorrect charge to my credit card company but I think I know what occurred. When I got to the checkout there were some other items on a cart sitting there but no customer with them; they apparently totaled $100 but the transaction had not been completed. We had some trouble getting the machine to read my card but finally it worked. I am sure that in the process that other $100 collection of items got charged to my card.
So if you go to a checkout and there is already an unfinished transaction in process, go find another checkout.

I can remember when banks were the worst information sellers. Utilities corporations as well. When I moved in and set up my utilities, Hydro was the only one that didn't get my full name, just first two initials and last name. Pretty soon the spam mail came addressed that way and 40yrs later, still getting spam emails the same way

I lived in my house in Minneapolis for 26 years and we were still getting junk mail for people who had lived there in the 1950s.
