We have been cleaning out the dross and old treasures that accumulate in an aircraft hangar. We partied and grilled stuff and did all nighters fixing things, and stored stuff that had no business there for going on 36 years.
Recycled all sorts of old tech, like these remote radio mounts, and autopilot servos.

When we got the plane, the old remote gear had been removed but the old mounts somehow missed the purge from the hangar. It had 92 pounds of radio gear aft of the rear bulkhead on these mounts.
There are a pair of nice 185's there.

The old girl looks good from a distance.

Skies are looking a bit gray - will this project be done before the weather turns?
It stays dry and warm into late October, at least the daytime highs allow for painting. I painted the house last October before it really got damp and too cool to paint.
We get a meager 16" of annual rainfall and it seems most of it is February.

I had lucked into a great deal while building the house. One of the neighbors had an apartment and rented it to me very reasonably. I finished clearing out of there and cleaning it up today. I fixed some things and have a few other projects I will do for her over the next few days. She fractured her ankle and is not healing well, long story but I will try to find her a good renter.

I slept in our main bedroom last night for the first time. Walked out to the sunrise out the kitchen window.

That's Mt Baker middle left, 74 miles out.
Yesterday morning

There are two ways into the west wing and our bedroom. I walked back in there to see this in the other doorway.

I did not figure on this sight line. That's a window I put in the carport wall to brighten up the living room.

So now I need to put in a secret vault that can be found and opened only on Sept 1

When I remodeled my place (ok, actually rebuilt, it was a dumpster fire when I bought it), I moved the master bedroom window to the south wall from the west wall for two reasons: first being the view to the west was a spectacular view of the side of my shop. Second, the south wall (with vaulted ceiling) was a massive expanse of blank. Since I had to replace the rotten siding on the entire south wall of the house (and a portion of the southwest siding), the decision was an easy one.

An unexpected result, was that in the afternoon around late December, the sun casts a shaft of light down the hall, through the living room and touches the dining room wall for three days only, lasting about 15 minutes. It's really cool.
