Today's project:
Boost pump.
We are on city water but at least 35' above the main in the street. The neighborhood has pretty dismal pressure down there, about 45. I laid 500' of 1" poly x2 to get within 75' of the equipment room, two years ago when all this started.
The two in the trench are 1.25" conduit and a 3/4" poly for my dark fiber run to the gate.
So I get the meter installed finally and get about 38 PSI static pressure in the basement of a 3 level house. Just so much as flush a toilet and it drops to 28.
Needless to say the 2nd floor showering would be dismal.
We got a 1/2 HP Gould pump and a 4.4 gallon expansion tank and a 30~60 pressure switch mounted on strut and plumbed with Bra$$ fittings.
We cut it in right at the end of that 1" poly and I will pour some walls and build a cover for it.
I got it dialed in to run 50~70 PSI and the pressure is grand.
I do a lot of this stuff myself but I also had a ringer today. This guy did most of the work and I ran parts and wired it up.
He is an artist in copper, as seen in my equipment room.
