I remember dashing out to buy that when it was first published. A bit 'far fetched' perhaps, but a darned good read nonetheless.
Always thought it would make a good movie - think I'll try to find another copy to read again.

Piece of cake Goshawk squadron By Derek Robinson are two good reads
