I would like to add green streaking camo to a Fokker D VII (flown by Paul Aue Jasta 10) with oil paints. Anyone know what's a good base color paint I should use?

Hello,

The kind of the camouflage was made by using of a brush. As the base you should use the clear doped linen. It can be the Humbrol 83 or the acrylic paint Tamiya XF60. The dark green semi-matt colour ( smudges) can be the Humbrol 30 or the Tamiya XF61. I'm not sure but you may need the grey-green matt coat also known as the WW2 German RLM02. It can be the Humbrol 240 or the Tamiya XF76. The light blue semi-matt colour for the undersides ... Humbrol 34+96 (10:1 ratio) or the mix of the Tamiya XF2+XF17 of the same ratio. The yellow for the Jasta 10 can be the Humbrol 24 or the mix of the acrylic Tamiya XF3+X6 of the 10:1 ratio.

The Eduard set for the model and its fuselage ... Mr.Hobby paints H303, H70, H31 and H302. The FS numbers for the green tones ... H302 - FS34092 , H303 - FS34102. The H70 is the RLM02 equivalent. The H302 is used for the wooden covering at the MG compartment and the top of the landing wheel wing. The undersides are suggested being of a turquoise colour Mr Hobby 118. I think they mean the Mr.Hobby C118 what is the equivalent of the WW2 German RLM78 light blue coat.
