Net effective thrust, not rated horsepower. Got to factor in the propulsive efficiency percentage.See? Groundhogs can fly! It's all down to the propulsive force applied.
Propulsive efficiency? Is that the exit velocity of groundhog farts? Or maybe if you light them with a match?
This thread has improved vastly over the past few days
Not just that. Also need variable geometry exhaust nozzles to be competitive in the GTO (Groundhog Theater of Operations)! That's another reason why you need the self-sealing nutsack upgrade for your groundhog.

The only Meredith I ever knew had no lift effect whatsoever! Zero camber laminar flow = zero lift. Zero AoA flat plate = drag only, no lift. What about the impact of laminar flow nutsacks? Or the Meredith effect on groundhog performance, particularly at altitude?
Is it too soon to start the "Stirling as potential atomic bomber" thread?Well, now that the Lancaster one's been shut down, we gotta go somewhere to get down with the brown...
I think the spitfire is way better at that.Is it too soon to start the "Stirling as potential atomic bomber" thread?
Fat Man and the Spitfire, by Edsel T Ford. Sounds like a blockbuster novel! Where do I submit my bid for the screen rights?I think the spitfire is way better at that.
I had suggested the P-39, but there were Cog issues that needed to be worked outI think the spitfire is way better at that.

Well...not me, my theories of the B-29 being the best candidate for the job were dismissed in another thread."The P-39 as a Potential Nuclear Bomber"?
We need someone to lead though, any ideas?
Won't work unless you get rid if the roundels - major drag penalty, you know.I think the spitfire is way better at that.
Come on Dave, you know as well as I do that the BF109 (which is just a spitfire without roundels) is a better nuclear bomber than the B29. Especially when you pair it with a ground hog ( sorry, Ein Waldmurmeltier).Well...not me, my theories of the B-29 being the best candidate for the job were dismissed in another thread.
What's to remove? Both "airfoils" were flat as boards. No camber, no lift. Nutsack dragging.Well, that's no good for our groundhog, better remove something to change the CofG...
I think not:Hey...what 2 grown men do with their groundhogs in their private time is nobody else's business. This is the 2020s after all!
Personally, I think you're suffering from groundhog envy!
