Hi, New member here.
I am just curious about Luftwaffe Pilots preference/opinion of their autocannon. Did they prefer MG 151/20 more than MK 108?
Thanks.
Forum contributor "MIflyer" recently posted a TA152 Pilots Manual (which see). This immediately piqued my interest and I eagerly scanned the pages using my mediocre grasp of technical German in search of details that would describe the Automatic Flight Stabilising system with which the TA152 was...
I wonder if anyone knows the status of "Focke-Wulf Fw-190 the Anatomy and Colours Volume 4" by J. Richard Smith and Eddie J. Creek. This was a proposed final book in their wonderful Fw-190 series.
Several years ago, there was an e-mail campaign to get the publisher, Ian Allen, to publish the...
Most Fw190s served against the Western Air Forces and new models were optimized for threats in the west that weighed down the fighters that ended up serving in the East. Heavier armor and armament for bomber killing affected all German fighters from 1942 on, but how could the Fw190 have been...

The only 1/48 scale kit I have heard of is the unobtainable Legato kit.
I have...
Flying alone and trailing smoke, Focke Wulf Fw190A-8 (W. Nr. 155960), flown by Horst Adameit of JG 54, was heading
home towards its base near Wenden, Latvia on August 8, 1944 when it suddenly turned 180 degrees and crashed into the
forest near the village of Ergli.
What do people think about Germany's Operation Bodenplatte (bottom plate), and the aerial battle of Y-29? Could it have been a success? Here are some videos from the History Channel's show Dogfights:

According to the NACA references, the accepted wing profiles for the FW190 Ta152 is the NACA 23015.3 (root) and the NACA 23009 (tip).
I wonder if anyone can explain the '.3' suffix to the root profile - I understand this relates to the modified 5-digit designation, but the normal definition...
