P51 Mustang, a photo from California, West | TrekEarth
Do any of you know anything about this particular Mustang? I would like to build a model based on this P-51. I'd like to find as many pics, and as much info on this plane as possible. Mustang models have been done to death, especially...
The link below brings some photos of a P-51 Mustang applied with an experimental paint scheme. Does anyone know the name or if this cammo was used operationally?

So seeing Andy's Mustangs has made me want to start my Tamiya 1/48 (almost bought another 1/32 ) P-51D soon. I will be building it as serial number Mustang IV 9564, which was apparently a P-51D-25-NA with a USAAF serial of 44-72902. I have attached the only picture I've seen of it. My...
In search for a lost Mustang from RAF 65 squadron we have found a 0.50 cailber shell which we suspect are from a mustang from this squadron.
Its stamped DM and 43 and has red tracer in the tip.
Are there anyone out there knowing what production batch was used in the 65th squadron ...
Hi everyone
We have been offered a rare (ie probably the only time it will happen) chance to acquire a CAC built Australian Mk20 Mustang - A68-71. It is the oldest surviving one left in Australia (there are two others both having been exported to the USA)
Anyway we have a task ahead in...
RAF Warton became the primary Base Air Depot (2) for B-24 and P-51. Each Fighter Group in the 8th and 9th Air Force had an on base Service Squadron/Group capable of implementing tech orders and significant repairs.
I have heard that the Malcolm Hood required between 85 and 135 hours to install...

This is the last footage of the show, it features some shots from static displays as well as footage of the SB2C Helldiver, Fairchild PT19, PT-13 Stearman and the Tuskegee Airmen P-51 Mustang!
This footage was shot at the first Dallas CAF...
What an amazing day yesterday. I was hired to photograph an event for Wish of a Lifetime. The wish was for 93-year-old Marion Rodgers to get to fly in a Mustang again. Yesterday, the wish was fulfilled. Marion Rodgers was one of the Tuskegee airmen. He flew 69 combat missions over Europe from...
Hi all,
Here's one I just finished - a P51B Mustang of the 355th FG/ 358th FS "Ole II" flown by William J Hovde.
As always with these Tamiya Mustangs, the build was straightforward, but I had some issues with painting that forced a strip and restart! Anyway, hope you like it.

Hi all,
I'm building a 1/48 P-51D Mustang from Tamiya and intend to finish it in the markings of A68-809 flown (and sadly, crashed) by Wing Commander Lou Spence of 77 Sqn in Korea.
The model (designed to be an American-built F-51D) features three lights to be painted red, amber and green...
