Hi,
I apologise if this is not the correct place to post this query (I am new to this Forum).
I came across this part in the attic of my late Father's house. He was an RAF navigator on one in WW2 this is why I think it might be from a Lancaster. It has a part number D109432 (G54) so I am...
This is the third part, unluckily for you all is not the last ;)
requirements
fired in combat in WW2
range 12 km
weight max 7.5-8 tons (i thinked 7.5, the triple of 2.5 limit used in the light challenge but i don't want that some howitzer is out for a few hundreds kilos) (all the howitzer...
following the light field howitzer race, here that for the heavy howitzer
my proposal for the requirements:
actually fire in combat in WW2
shell 90 kg or heavier
time to ready max 1 hour
max range 12 km or more

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f7/Closeup_view_of_Martin_B-26C_in_flight.jpg Could you smoke in these planes in WW2? The bombardier seems to be taking a drag!!
the light field howitzer was a common piece of artillery in WW2 what is your choice?, we can take in consideration also specifical national trouble (like minor countries or not motorized countries)
in WW2: so only weapons that had fired in battle of WW2
light field howitzer: main thats around...
Beautiful means, not about performance, only about looking good. Please choice only one aircraft you think beautiful.
I vote to Bf109. I think it has sharpe shape and beautility.8)8)
Vote finished!

Cheers,
DanMorris
