1/350 USS Johnston DD557 using 1/350 Trumpeter USS The Sullivans donor kit

I had the Rudderow back in 1963 or so. I was in definite need to have it after seeing the movie "The Enemy Below' with Robert Mitchum. It impressed the Hell out of me at 9 or 10 years old, still a classic I enjoy to this day. A die hard Buckley fan myself, built the 1/350 Trumpeter and 1/249 Revell. Here's the old Revell kit with thread railings.

More parts assembled. I have the smoke stacks built but left the tenny tiney parts off the cat walks so I can pre paint the larger surfaces. Before I paint there are some sprue attachment areas and seams that need sanding.

I remember The Fighting Sullivans as a kid. Still recall a lot of it.
To this day brothers are not assigned duty stations together.

The deck is attached to the hull and the stand is painted and cemented to the hull, this makes the rest of the build much easier to work on.
